Jean Bellerive, a 79-year-old cleaner for the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office (MDSO) through Goodwill of South Florida, retired after 13 years of service, leaving behind a legacy of dedication and camaraderie. His retirement party, attended by MDSO staff and Goodwill leadership, highlighted the deep bonds between the Goodwill cleaning crew and the law enforcement community.

The Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office held its first-ever civilian promotions ceremony, recognizing the vital contributions of civilian employees across various divisions. Deputy Director Christopher J. Carothers and Chief Stephanie L. Stoiloff emphasized the significance of the event, marking a new era of appreciation for civilian staff within the department

House Bill 657, passed in July 2023, authorizes camera enforcement of speed limits in school zones within Miami-Dade County for vehicles exceeding the limit by more than 10 miles per hour during school hours. Violators will receive a minimum $100 fine, with options to pay, transfer liability, or contest the citation.

The Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office Occupant with Autism program provides decals to indicate the presence of individuals with autism in vehicles or homes, aiding police response. This initiative enhances safety and response effectiveness during emergencies. Registration is voluntary, with an option for address flagging in the dispatch system instead of a decal display.
