    • After School
      Focuses on improving literacy skills, social interaction skills, and physical activity/fitness. Services consist of homework/tutoring assistance, and computer classes.
      Available at: Acción and Perrine
    • Citizen Involvement and Participation
      Allows residents of 16 targeted neighborhoods (represented by Community Advisory Committees) to become more empowered as stakeholders in their communities. Structured activities and coordinated initiatives are implemented to promote and foster community improvement and revitalization in neighborhoods where low-income citizens reside. With a focus on community empowerment through maximum feasible participation, citizens receive support and training, to enhance their roles as advocates for their communities. CAHSD uses a community “grassroots approach,” which encompasses a team oriented strategy..

    • Employment Preparation and Training
      Offered to residents seeking employment. Workshops include: resume and cover letter writing, mock interviews, dress for success and workplace etiquette.

    • English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)
      Low-income individuals who are Spanish speakers can learn to speak English. Classes are held Tuesdays and Thursdays from noon to 2 p.m. There is a $30 registration fee.

    • Family Development
      Targeted families are provided with a family support system designed to identify, reduce and remove social barriers, and promote economic independence and self-sufficiency within five years.

    • Farm Share Food Distribution
      Available at: Coconut Grove and Perrine
    • Immigration Services
      Residents are provided assistance with citizenship, residency, work permits and other immigration issues.

    • Job Development Assistance
      Provided to residents who are employed or under employed. Services include: job referral and job placement assistance. CAHSD maintains a relationship with the One Stop Centers and other providers in the employment industry.

    • Housing Assistance Network of Dade (HAND) Program
      HAND assistance provides temporary financial assistance and housing relocation and stabilization services to individuals and families who are homeless or at-risk of being homeless.

    • Summer Camp
      Offered to low-income youth, ages 7-14; through Miami-Dade Parks Recreation and Open Spaces. Youth will be provided with structured fun-filled activities, nutritious lunch and snack. CAHSD will sponsor youth to participate via a scholarship.

    • Youth Success Program
      It is an afterschool program, designed to create positive experiences in a positive environment for youth and young adults ages 15-22. Core components include: Academic Support, Civic Engagement, Social Emotional Learning and Family Engagement. Program benefits include: leadership development, homework assistance, college and career preparation, community engagement opportunities and field trips. The program is funded by the Children' Trust.
