Board of Rules and Appeals (BORA)

The Board of Rules and Appeals (BORA) hears appeals of Building Officials, provides interpretations of the Florida Building Code, and considers restricting permitting privileges for willful violations of the Building Code. The Board's jurisdiction is outlined in Chapter 8, Section 8-4 of the Miami-Dade County Code.

The Board generally meets once a month to hear cases submitted as appeals of the Building Official requested by homeowners, contractors or other interested parties on matters governed by the building code.
